  • Yes. Kupilka dishware complies with the requirements of the EC Regulation EC/1935/2004/EC §3 and EU Regulation EU No 10/2011 on materials and articles intending to come into contact with food.

  • Kupilka products are dyed with colours that are approved for food contact. There is no coating that would wear off during use.

  • All materials are recycled within the Kupilka production site. To comply with the health and safety regulations, we do not use outsourced recycled materials. Instead, we use our very own Kareline® Natural Fibre Composite – eco-friendly cellulose fibres from certified Finnish forests reinforce the material with FDA approved polypropylene used as an adhesive (ratio: 50/50). Products from this material age beautifully yet keeping their qualities.

  • Kupilka products are insensitive to humidity, which means that they do not absorb the smell or taste of food and drinks.

  • Kupilka products are easy to maintain and do not need any special care.

  • Kupilka can offer lasermarking of products with names or logos. Please get in touch to discuss availability and minimum orders.

  • Yes. You can check how fresh the product is from its wooden scent – the stronger the scent, the newer the product! The smell will disappear after a few washes.

  • Yes. You can use for example quality acrylic paint to decorate the dishes. Remember to follow the instructions and ensure that the paint is completely cured before using the product.

  • Yes. You can drill and sand your Kupilka like a wooden product. Note that very high drilling temperatures might burn and melt the drilling hole.

  • Kupilka dishware will last longer if you use Kupilka cutlery from the same material. Products from this material age beautifully yet keeping their qualities.

  • There can be dots on the products due to the wood fibre content of the material. The dots do not affect the functionality of the product.

  • Moomin logos are colour- and product-specific. To get customised product we recommend text laser option.

  • The natural aging process fades the laser engraving slightly, but this does not affect the usage of the product.
